Haute couture will travel

Concierge travel is synonymous with making dreams come true and wearing haute couture is up there in terms of aspirations. Let alone having a piece made exclusively for you.

This is about more than fashion. It is a once-in-a-lifetime experience normally available only to royalty, heiresses and celebrities. There are only 14 designers who bear the label of haute couture, with one item taking up to 700 hours to create. Gaining entry into the haute couture circle of around 4,000 members worldwide requires an invitation.

Now your wish can come true, albeit with a significant price tag. Fairy Godmother aka Ariodante travel is offering a rare and exclusive opportunity that many would give their eye teeth for. The luxury concierge service will arrange travel to Paris where guests will have an haute couture garment created for them by a designer of their choice, including leading ateliers Luis Vuitton, Hermes, Givenchy, Chanel or Dior.

Wearing designer clothing alters the way you feel and move. It is no exaggeration to say that the luxurious quality of the materials, the construction of the piece, the attention to detail, the superlative stitching and embellishments transform you, instilling confidence and elevating the ordinary into the extraordinary. A bespoke garment may be assembled with exquisite beading, hand embroidery, feathers, fur or other embellishments by highly trained artisans.

While many might choose to commission a fairytale ballgown a Chanel suit, tailored-made and fitted by the best seamstresses, would take your personal style to an enviable level for many years. Just having a pre-loved designer garment hanging in your wardrobe elevates your whole style. Beautiful things are life-changing.

The Ariodante experience begins with travel to Paris by private jet to be met by the head atelier of a guest’s favourite brand. The experience will include a presentation of the brand’s current collection. A further exciting aspect is the opportunity to learn more about past collections and old drawings. Imagine delving into the history of L’Atelier Dior, designer for Sophia Loren’s wardrobe in Arabesque (1966) or Givenchy, designer of Audrey Hepburn’s iconic gown in Sabrina (1954).

Haute couture garments are literally works of art. Designed exclusively for runways and art exhibitions they are rarely made to be sold. The time, effort and rare materials used to make a single piece means they are often described as having no price tag.

A private fashion show curated exclusively for guests will showcase new and emerging designers. Exclusive access will also be arranged to visit the private Paris City Hall fashion collection, one of the largest in the world.

The Meurice Hotel, private terrace and view of La Tour Eiffel.

Naturally, accommodation will be a luxurious hotel suite in Paris, for instance, the Belle Etoile suite at the Meurice Hotel complete with private rooftop terrace overlooking the Eiffel Tower. Opportunities to dress up will include dinner reservations at exclusive Parisian restaurants, private access to the City’s museums and galleries, and even tickets to an exclusive star-studded event. Your personal Ariodante travel manager will be on hand to oversee the minutiae of your itinerary including any necessary Covid requirements.

Heirlooms

Luxury brands are purchased for longevity whether that’s a Rolls-Royce or a beautiful garment. They are an investment. The traditional skills involved are handed down through the generations, and many are transferable. High end fashion brands including Chanel, Ralph Lauren and Prada have signed the fashion pact and promised to combat greenhouse gasses and emphasise sustainability in the industry. Haute Couture is bespoke so there is less waste when it comes to materials during the careful creation of a garment. And the finished garment is one you will want to keep forever, and even pass on to the next generation.

Getting There

Ariodante specialise in refined bespoke travel experiences in relation to the arts, history and culture. A percentage of the fees helps to support restoration projects, for example, the restoration of Catherine de Medici’s golden ballroom at Fontainebleau Palace and the protection of endangered animals at the Mercantour National Park. The Ariodante haute couture experience starts from approximately £100,000 per person. www.ariodantetravel.com

Unless otherwise stated, I have no affiliation with the brands mentioned but simply aim to share places and products that have caught my eye. I will always state if a post is sponsored or gifted.
